2026 Board of Directors

President | Hadiya Nuriddin brings over two decades of expertise in learning strategy, instructional design, elearning development, and facilitation. After a successful career in corporate learning, she founded Duets Learning, where she partners with organizations on a range of learning initiatives. She holds a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in Writing. Hadiya teaches through Duets Learning and collaborates with the Association for Talent Development (ATD), the Learning Guild, and TD (formerly Training) magazine. In addition to her consulting work, Hadiya delivers keynotes, writes on learning and development, and has published three books with ATD Press: StoryTraining, Quality Management in Learning and Development, and Language of Learning: Mastering Writing for Instructional Design (editor). She has received the Learning Guild’s Guild Master Award and ATD’s Talent Development Outstanding Professional Award. Hadiya has volunteered with the Showcase for well over a decade, primarily serving as the speaker team lead and event programmer.

Vice President | James Wallace retired after a professional career spanning 51 years as an instructional designer, project manager, and technical writer. Jim spent the last 23 years of his career with Mastech Digital and its predecessors, serving as Consultant Manager for their Digital Learning practice group. Over his career, Jim has been part of a radical transformation in instructional design and development technology and continues to promote innovation through involvement in the Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase. Jim has been a long-time attender of the Showcase. He has also been a member of the event planning committee since 2016, primarily responsible for facilities and catering.

Secretary | Linda Jansak is recognized for her innovative leadership and long-standing contributions to the technical communication community. Over a 30-year career, she has helped organizations across corporate, academic, and nonprofit sectors translate complex ideas into clear, user-centered solutions. With a background in journalism and marketing, she has held roles as technical editor, knowledge manager, university lecturer, and nonprofit leader. In 2024, she was named an Associate Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication. Linda is a founding member of the Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase, where she continues to promote innovation and collaboration in elearning today.

Treasurer | Apryl Cox Jackson has over 20 years of experience in creating online learning, with a focus on instructional design and development for non-profits. She is also a technical editor of non-fiction works, including instructional materials, reports, journal articles, dissertations, and books. She loves learning new content and skills from every project and has a Master’s of Technical Communication and Information Design. Apryl has volunteered with the Chicago eLearning & Technology Showcase since the first event in 2008. Over the years, she has served on every planning team and led several of them. She currently acts as the assistant event manager and leads the finance and registration teams.
